A memorial plaque installed on a rock inscribed with S. Ozernitsky's poem "To Elbrus," written in 2016.

Like a giant, great and radiant,

Like the temple of the Creator, indestructible,

And there is nothing more beautiful in the whole world

Than your sparkling peaks.

You were born not simply to be a mountain –

You are a king – destined to become one.

Your duty is to help the heroes

Find strength of spirit here.

I dream of this all day,

And I undertake to declare to you,

The holy mountain of all Rus' –

Gray and regal Elbrus.

Situated on the grounds of the Maria Shelter, which is part of a single complex with the Orlinoye Gnezdo and 88 shelters, it is one of the highest mountain landmarks, along with the Pastukhov Rocks Memorial, the Memorial Plaque to the Red Army Commanders, and the Memorial to Fallen Climbers.
