The Irik River (a tributary of the Baksan) flows through the Irikchat Gorge, a picturesque spot in Kabardino-Balkaria near Mount Elbrus.

The river is 13 km long and originates from the Irikchat Glacier between Mount Askerkolbashi-Tersak and Mount Chatkara. The river is characterized by its rapid current and depth. The gorge and river are part of the Elbrus Region National Park.
