Elbrus National Park protects the typical and rare natural environment of the Central Caucasus: plants and animals, mountain landscapes, rivers, and lakes.

The entire natural palette of the Elbrus region is represented here—from mountain steppes and forests to alpine meadows and glaciers.

Any human activity that could harm the environment is prohibited within the protected area: grazing, haymaking, harvesting timber and other resources, hunting (except for fire safety measures), fishing, and mining.

The park not only preserves and studies natural complexes and sites but also develops organized tourism, taking into account the permissible impact on the environment.
