PSU Associate Professor Daria Sukhovskaya was a speaker at Russia's largest folklore festival, “Zhatva,” in Voronezh.
The Zhatva Festival is a large-scale cultural platform that brings together researchers, artists, musicians, and folk artists. It is here that the modern agenda for the preservation of intangible cultural heritage is formed and new meanings for the development of traditions are created.
In her lecture, Daria Sukhovskaya presented a scientific interpretation of the symbolism and archetypes of Russian fairy tales and epics, showing how cultural codes are transmitted and national identity is formed through the images and metaphors of folk art.
Daria Sukhovskaya's participation in “Zhatva” is a significant confirmation of the scientific and cultural authority of PSU, whose teachers today shape the intellectual agenda not only at the regional level, but also at the national level.
