The Cyril and Methodius Readings, dedicated to the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture, were held at the Institute of Translation Studies, Russian Studies, and Multilingualism at PSU.
The holiday, associated with the names of Saints Cyril and Methodius, reminds us of the importance of the native language, written language, verbal culture, and spiritual heritage of the Slavic peoples. It was these enlightened brothers who created the Slavic alphabet, laying the foundation for the development of writing and education.
A highlight of the event was the awarding of students who contributed to the development of literature, the popularization of the Russian language, and cultural and educational activities.
The Cyril and Methodius Readings once again reminded us that language is not only a means of communication but also a vital part of national culture, historical memory, and spiritual unity.
