The Institute of Translation Studies, Russian Studies, and Multilingualism hosted the first meeting of the Deutsch macht Spaß language club, dedicated to German Unity Day.
The event brought together students in their second to fourth years who are studying German. The students learned about the history of the reunification of West and East Germany in 1990 and discussed the current challenges of European integration and Germany's role in international relations.
“German Unity Day is not only a historical date, but also a reminder of the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding, and the pursuit of peace,” said M.G. Gadzhimuradova, associate professor in the Department of Western European Languages and Cultures at the Institute of Translation Studies, Russian Studies, and Multilingualism.
