The Institute of Translation Studies, Russian Studies and Multilingualism of Pyatigorsk State University hosted an anniversary event - “Cyril and Methodius Readings”, which the Department of Literature and Pedagogical Technologies has been organizing for 40 years in a row!
This holiday is dedicated to the great heritage of Cyril and Methodius, the creators of the Slavonic script, and the importance of the Cyrillic alphabet in the development of language, culture and education.
I.B. Fedotova, Dean of the Institute, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. O.A. Alimuradov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Activities, and Prof. A.A. Burov spoke about the role of the Cyrillic alphabet in the modern world. Their speeches set the scientific tone of the meeting and emphasized the importance of the continuity of traditions.
