The Birjaly Ice Marathon was one of the most exciting, most thrilling, and highest-altitude events for the CUT TEAM.
Unfortunately, we must announce that the project is closing.
The terrain leading to the Jikaugenkez Ice Plateau becomes more challenging each year, and an ice marathon cannot exist without ice.
But we believe this pause in the project is temporary, and a new ice track will soon appear in the Caucasus!
On August 25 at 3:04 PM Moscow time and 8:04 PM local time, the Mongol Ultra Trail project reconnaissance team reports:
We've returned to Irkutsk. Everything is fine.
Ten days of adventure and lots of information about the main race of 2027 are coming soon!
Evgeny Khrulyov finished first in the 100 Miles of Caucasus this year, clocking 23 hours and 22 minutes.
He was ready to raise the bar in 2029, before Armageddon, but the available slots ran out in a flash.
For now, congratulations to Evgeny on securing a spot on the Super Ultra 500 start list!
Mikhail Ivshin will return in 2029 to the distance he confidently won in 2026!

The sold-out Armageddon race shifted attention away from the short-distance Arkhyz-Elbrus 200 and the SU500 Half-Distance.
And that's a shame.
