Kavkaz.RF will hold its second art festival at Mamison

For the second time, the mountain resort in North Ossetia will become a platform for experiments at the intersection of contemporary art, nature, and the region's cultural heritage. From August 21 to 23, guests of the Lisri art festival will enjoy an open-air sculpture exhibition, a light show, musical performances, tours, and public talks. The resort will also host a fair of local artists and brands.
The central event of the art festival will be the opening of an exhibition of monumental sculpture by Vladimir Soskiev, a member of the Russian Academy of Arts. Works by the renowned Ossetian sculptor will become part of the resort's mountain landscape, and can be seen both in Mamison's central square and at the top cable car station, at an altitude of 2,950 meters. Another signature event of the festival will be a show in the ancient village of Lisri.
"One of Mamison's missions as an art resort is to be a place where nature and art meet. And Vladimir Borisovich Soskiev's exhibition will help bring this idea to life. Another important component of the resort and festival's DNA is that our guests are always co-creators. We believe that everyone has creative potential, so we prepare engaging art activities. I won't reveal all the details, but I will say that guests will even be able to contribute to the spectacular finale of the three days—the light show," shared Andrey Yumshanov, General Director of Kavkaz.RF.
During the festival, a fair of local crafts and gastronomy will be held in the resort's main square, along with artist masterclasses and lectures by art industry speakers. Musical performances will be held at the resort's upper cable car stations.
The resort's first art festival, held a year earlier, was attended by 2,500 people. Participants and presenters of the festival included influencer Natalia Osmann, concept chef Ivan Dubkov, audiovisual artist Alexander Fuks, musicians Ragon Bal and Alexander Lestyukhin (Poima), artists Azamat Apaev and Madi Kurdan, PhD candidate and culture and heritage researcher Daria Sukhovskaya, photographer Rada Sadygova, the Snob publication, the New Russian Cultural Code channel, and other friends of the resort. More than twenty local brands presented their products at the fair.
The Lisri Art Festival is organized by the resort's management company, Kavkaz.RF, with the support of the Government of North Ossetia. Kavkaz.RF is the unified development institute for the North Caucasus. Together with the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the company builds and develops mountain resorts, manages a tourism and recreational special economic zone, creates conditions for business development in the region, and fosters a favorable investment climate.
