Besht is a tower complex in the side gorge of the right bank of the Guloihi River, 1.3 km north of Abali. The complex has four semi-ruined residential towers with various annexes. Within the complex are two destroyed collective crypt tombs, a Muslim mausoleum and two destroyed pillar-shaped sanctuaries. One of the sanctuaries was erected at the end of the XVIII century “on the place where a young man from Besht was killed by lightning”, i.e. the monument was dedicated to the venerated Thunderer Sele in the past.
The Besht Tower Complex is part of the Dzhirakh-Assin State Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve and is an object of cultural heritage protected by the state.
