Two wives' towers

Two wives' towers (Towers of two rivals, Shin engara gala) are located in the Jeirakh district on a narrow ridge with steep steep steep slopes of the Rocky Ridge spur, 1 km south-west of the Niy complex, between the Tsorei-Loam Pass and the Guloykhi Gorge. The fortification consisted of two battle towers with a flat roof, united by a residential tower in a single castle complex.

According to legend, the castle was built by two women from the nearby village of Gyant. They were the wives of the same man. When their husband died, the villagers disliked the neighbors, and they hired a builder who built two battle towers on an impregnable cliff. A unique feature of both towers is the absence of stone ceilings between floors and doorways leading not only to the second, but also to the first floor. This is a very rare architectural solution for the battle towers of Ingushetia. In the past, a road led to the tower, now crumbling due to rain erosion. Due to the lack of trails, it is not safe for tourists to visit the towers.

The tower complex Two wives' towers is part of the Dzheirakh-Assin State Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve and an identified object of cultural heritage protected by the state.
