Astemir Tavasiev, a member of the Youth Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia-Alania from the Irafsky District, held two events for students of the S.K. Karaev Secondary School in the village of Lesken: an educational lecture on prominent natives of Ossetia and an interactive quiz on the history of Ossetia.

Through this lively lecture and engaging quiz, the students were able to gain a new perspective on the historical heritage of Ossetia.

The creative team of the Surkh-Digora Cultural Center prepared a concert for recipients of social services from the home care department No. 3 of the Iraf District Social Services Center.

The audience highly appreciated the vocal skills, greeting each composition with friendly ovations. The event became a real celebration, giving many pleasant emotions and a feeling of unity.

Today in Surkh-Digora, the village's long-lived residents were presented with certificates from the Russian Book of Records and one-time payments from the head of the republic.

On July 5, Surkh-Digora was entered into the Russian Book of Records for “The largest number of long-lived residents living simultaneously in one village in Russia,” becoming the only village in Russia to be entered into the register of achievements three times.

The initiative to include the long-lived residents of Surkh-Digora in the Russian Book of Records and to provide one-time payments from the head of the republic came from Oleg Marzoev, deputy head of the Surkh-Digora rural settlement.

Last weekend, the second Iraf Wrestling League tournament was held at the Chikola Sports and Health Complex, which contributed to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Russian government's “Sport of Russia” program.

This tournament debuted in February this year and immediately won the hearts of athletes and fans. Its creators are three-time European freestyle wrestling champion among juniors Marat Fadzayev and municipal coordinator of the “First Movement” in the Iraf district Alan Sailaonov.

At the end of the competition, wrestlers from the Irafsky District won championship belts and medals.

In the last days of December, it is customary to sum up the results of the outgoing year and traditionally honor the best specialists in various fields of professional activity.

Robert Khamikoev, head of the Irafsky municipal district, and Kazbek Gutsunaev, chairman of the Irafsky municipal district assembly of representatives, presented awards to the best specialists in various fields of professional activity in the district administration's meeting hall. The ceremony was a recognition of the merits of those whose conscientious work makes an invaluable contribution to the development of the district.

Congratulating the best of the best, the leadership noted that such specialists are an example for the entire team and set high professional standards.

On the eve of Russian Student Day, students from the Irafsky municipal district took part in the All-Russian campaign “Student Landing,” which contributes to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the national project “Youth and Children.”

The educational trip was initiated by the Irafsky District Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Students in grades 5-11 from schools in the villages of Aksarisar and Khaznidon went on a trip to the Barbashovo Pole Memorial Complex in the village of Gizel and the Museum of the History of Internal Affairs in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania in Vladikavkaz.

As a result of the implementation of the national project “Infrastructure for Life,” the entrance area to the village of Lesken was improved in 2025.

A key feature of the project is that the residents themselves chose this area for improvement during an All-Russian online vote in 2023. The work was carried out in two stages.

As a result of the improvement, a modern public space for family leisure, cultural events, and walks was created here, covering an area of over 3,000 square meters.

During a working trip to the Irafsky District, Batraz Gudiev, Minister of Culture of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, held a personal reception for citizens at the district administration.

Residents raised pressing issues: the renovation of the cultural center in Makhchesk, the lack of a piano at the Children's School of Arts, and the need for a minibus for the cultural center in Chikola.

The minister took all the issues under his control. Thus, it was decided to address the issue of major repairs to the cultural center in Makhchesk to the Ministry of Construction of the republic as part of the application campaign for the national project “Family.” The issues of purchasing a piano and transport for cultural institutions will also be resolved as a matter of priority.

After talking with the residents of Batraz, Gudiev inspected the District Cultural Center in Chikole, giving a positive assessment of both the level of work of the employees and the condition of the building.

The third annual Lavender Charity Fair, “I Am and I Will Be!”, was held in Vladikavkaz, contributing to the goals and objectives of the national project “Youth and Children.”

This event, organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the Be Kind Foundation, brings together everyone who is ready to give hope and help to cancer patients in our republic.

The Irafsky District has actively joined in this important work. Education advisors, together with schoolchildren, have created a whole gallery of handmade warmth for the fair: fragrant sachets, cozy knitted items, homemade baked goods, and candles.

Each item sold is a real contribution to the costly treatment of cancer patients in the republic. In this way, education, volunteering, and helping others, which are embedded in the ideology of the national project, have been translated into concrete good deeds.

Last Wednesday, a working meeting was held in the Irafsky District between the chairman of the Road Administration Committee of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Tariel Soliev, and residents of the district, heads of rural settlements, and the district administration.

The discussion focused on the problems of repairing and maintaining regional roads in the Irafsky District.

During the meeting, a number of specific issues were raised. For example, a resident of the village of Lesken raised the problem of difficult winter travel on the Chikola-Lesken road during snowfalls. Residents of Khaznidon requested the installation of bus shelters at three locations for the convenience of passengers. The head of the Stur-Digorsky rural settlement drew attention to the need for lighting on the section of the road near the FAP and the installation of additional road signs for safety. The head of the Akhsarisarsky settlement asked for repairs to be organized on Dzoblaev Street.

Issues requiring a comprehensive approach were also raised: the head of the Chikolinsky rural settlement raised the problem of cattle being driven across the regional road, where a metal guardrail is installed along the carriageway. Questions were raised about the prospects of building a paved road from Verkhniy Zgid to Kamunta and about the construction of a parking lot for tourists in Kamunta on the initiative of the head of the Galiat settlement.

After listening to all the appeals, Tariel Tazaretovich took them under control and gave specific instructions. On the Chikola-Leskhen road, the contractor was instructed to intensify work on problem areas. Repairs to Dzoblaev Street are planned for this year. Issues requiring further consideration, such as cattle grazing and parking for tourists, will be resolved in consultation with specialists from the district administration. As for the new road to the village of Kamunta, its design is planned for 2027 with a view to its subsequent inclusion in one of the state programs implemented in the republic.

The first meeting of the Young Voters Club was held at the Lesken Model Library in the Irafsky District.

The meeting was moderated by Alina Eleeva, Chairperson of the Irafsky District Territorial Electoral Commission. Elvira Tuskaeva, Chairperson of the District Territorial Electoral Commission, actively participated in the dialogue with the youth.

The meeting culminated with the visit of Zhanna Morgoeva, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. She came to personally meet the young voters and support their first step into the world of electoral law.

The young voters took a quiz to test their knowledge of electoral law, followed by an important vote. The club members chose the name "Voice of the Youth."

The first meeting concluded with the ceremonial handover of the club's symbol. This was a commemorative cup bearing the club's name and founding date. It will remain in the library and be passed down from member to member.
