Mamison welcomes autumn with sports, comedy, and creative workshops.

The year-round resort in North Ossetia has announced its September program. Mamison guests can look forward to mountain runs, stand-up comedy sets by the North Caucasus's top comedians, weekend "slow living" workshops, and a literary immersion experience.

On Saturday, September 12, the resort will host a conceptual photography workshop led by photo artist Rada Sadygova—the creator of Mamison’s inaugural advertising campaign. Both professional photographers and amateurs are invited to participate. Participants may use digital or film cameras, or even smartphone cameras. The session begins at 2:00 PM.

On September 13, the resort will host a family sports tourism festival. Mountain runs will kick off at 9:00 AM, open to both experienced athletes and those looking to try trail running for the first time. Courses of 7, 10, 20, and 41 kilometers await the runners; all races start at the resort's lower station. Starting at 11:00 AM, activity zones will open for guests, featuring orienteering, a family quest with prizes, relay races, mounted archery, a stone-throwing contest, a children's program, and a raffle. The day will conclude with a concert by the Ossetian groups Heat Beat Band and "Ritm Gor" (Rhythm of the Mountains), both of which blend modern sounds with traditional motifs. Every registered participant will receive a sightseeing ticket for the cable car. A free shuttle service from Vladikavkaz will operate on the day of the festival, starting at 6:30 AM.

From September 18 to 20, Mamison will welcome the North Caucasus's best comedians and fans of good humor for its first-ever comedy festival. On September 18 and 19, the resort will host workshops led by guest comedians and an "Open Mic" session for anyone wishing to try their hand at stand-up comedy. The comedy festival’s main event—a major showcase featuring various comedians—will take place on Sunday, September 20.

On September 22, a DJ set awaits guests at the resort’s upper station, followed by an Ossetian pie-making workshop on September 25. From September 24 to 27, the "Po Slogam" (Syllable by Syllable) literary workshop will be based at the resort, offering participants an opportunity to engage in thoughtful reading and contemplation. Additionally, at the end of the month, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) will hold an entrepreneurship intensive at Mamison.

On September 26 and 27, the resort invites visitors to celebrate Tourism Day with a "Trekking Weekend," featuring guided hikes along the resort's eco-trails accompanied by professional photographers. Hiking and trekking enthusiasts can explore routes of varying difficulty levels at Mamison, spanning a total distance of over 15 kilometers. Some of these trails are accessible daily, regardless of the cable car's operating schedule. An open-air exhibition of sculptures by Vladimir Soskiev, located at the resort's upper station, will further enhance the experience of autumn mountain walks; the works will be on display until the end of September.

Participation in all resort activities is free, subject to prior registration. Mamison can be reached via a regular shuttle service from Vladikavkaz: departures are from the Ossetian Theatre at 9:00 AM, with return trips leaving the resort parking lot at 4:30 PM.

Trail runs will be organized on four routes starting at 8:00 AM:

Kalak - 7 km (for beginners);

Lisri - 10 km (with a view of the ancestral towers);

Tib - 20 km (elevation difference 680 m, goal time 5 hours);

Zaramag - 41 km (for experienced athletes, elevation difference 2000 m, goal time 8 hours).

Starting at 11:00 AM, there will be workshops, orienteering, a quest with prizes, a family relay race, archery, traditional games, stone throwing, a children's program, and a post office.

The event will conclude with a concert featuring the Heat Beat Band.

All activities are free. Each registered participant will receive a cable car ticket. An exhibition of sculptures by Vladimir Soskiev will continue at the top station of the cable car.

The fall season of the Slow Life Workshops kicks off at the Mamison resort.

The all-season Mamison resort is resuming its Slow Life Workshops program. The new fall season will feature a cultural and educational program featuring master classes, lectures, and intimate creative gatherings. The events will take place every weekend in the resort's new exhibition space.

The first workshop, scheduled for September 5-6, will feature a cyanotype workshop led by artist Mila Hatsuk. Participants will learn an ancient printing technique in which images are formed by exposure to sunlight. During the workshop, guests will create botanical prints: they will assemble plant arrangements, place them on special paper, and create artworks in a distinctive blue color scheme—all without the use of a camera.

Over three days, nearly 4,000 Mamison guests experienced monumental sculpture, contemporary artists' experiments, and watched a light and music show on the walls of the village of Lisri.

An exhibition based on the resort's first art residency opened in Mamison's new exhibition space. Curators from newnow brought together works by Dani Pirogov, Ilya Tskhurbaev, Sasha Pavlovskaya, Georgy Orlov-Davydovsky, Lia Levin, and Margo Makarova. Each project is a personal statement about Mamison, born from an encounter with its history, culture, and nature. Georgy Orlov-Davydovsky's acousmatic track resonated particularly strongly: the artist transformed the melting of the Tsei Glacier into sound, inviting viewers to experience an auditory experience that exists on equal terms with the visual. Dani Pirogov's work prompted viewers to consider the continuity of movement in the landscape and the place of humans in this eternal transformation.

A photo contest for amateurs and professionals will be held at the Mamison Resort from August 21st to September 13th. Participation is in person; presence at the resort is required.

The event will begin at 11:00 AM on August 21st at the central square of the Kalak-2025 station. The program includes an introduction, a climb to the Zaramag-1 station, a photo shoot, and a discussion of light and landscape techniques with a guest photographer.

From August 22nd to September 4th, participants can return to the resort to find the right angles and create a series of shots.

Mamison invites you to a trekking weekend.

On August 8th and 9th, the Ossetian resort of Mamison will host group hikes along eco-trails, accompanied by professional guides and photographers. Anyone can enjoy the trails: guests will have a choice of easy and medium difficulty routes, and participation is free. A cable car ticket will be required to access the starting point of some routes.

Starting at 10:00 AM, guests will assemble in the resort's main square and be divided into groups, accompanied by live music from DJs. Guests can choose their preferred route, and guides will recommend the best option based on their level of fitness and equipment. Each participant will receive a healthy snack for the journey. The trails will depart at 10:30 AM. The routes will take up to four hours.

Groups will depart from the resort's upper station along the Peak 2727 and Mamihdon trails. The first trail will involve a 3.8-kilometer ridge climb with an elevation gain of 240 meters, taking approximately two hours. The second trail leads down to the tent camp; guests will hike five kilometers from an altitude of 2,950 meters to 2,390 meters and back, part of the way along the Mamihdon mountain river.

You can reach Mamihdon by regular transfer from Vladikavkaz. Transfers depart from the Ossetian Theater at 8:00 AM.

All routes are radial, ending at the meeting point. Clear navigation, rest areas, and observation platforms will accompany all equipped routes. Guests of the trekking weekend can participate in a photo shoot and receive complimentary photos taken by a professional photographer.

Kavkaz.RF, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, has already paved and developed over 250 kilometers of hiking trails in several republics of the North Caucasus. The trails are part of the large-scale National Caucasus Trail project, which will eventually connect the region with a network of eco-trails totaling almost 2,500 kilometers. An exhibition of works by the outstanding Ossetian sculptor Vladimir Soskiev opens in Moscow today. Vladimir Borisovich's finest works will be on display at the Museum of Nonconformism on Myasnitskaya Street until January 31, 2027.

As part of the ninth "Path to the Peaks" rock climbing camp, the wards of the "Life in Motion" charity foundation visited North Ossetia for the first time. This year's training sessions are taking place in the picturesque Digorskoye Gorge, and the extensive program also includes a tour of the Mamison resort.

Ten camp participants—children with musculoskeletal disabilities—climbed to an altitude of over 3,000 meters by cable car, walked along mountain trails, and were able to rest between training sessions: tea and traditional Ossetian pies were served.

The main goal of the trip was not only to hone their rock climbing and trekking skills but also to expand the children's understanding of their own capabilities. The program included a challenging hike to Mount Kubus in Digoria National Park, as well as networking with like-minded individuals and exploring new routes.

The "Path to the Summits" project aims to rehabilitate and socially adapt children through sports, active recreation, and vibrant experiences. Past experience confirms the effectiveness of this approach: program participants have already conquered Kilimanjaro, Ararat, and Elbrus, and trained in Sochi, Crimea, and Altai.

Mountain expert Anton Brichkovsky, who has been helping the foundation's beneficiaries explore the mountains of the North Caucasus for several years, helped organize the trip to the Mamison resort. Plans for this year include climbing Elbrus with one of the program participants.

Master classes and an ethno fair were successfully held at the Mamison resort near the Moon Base campfire area.

Guests were able to participate in the creative process, trying their hand at various techniques and creating unique handicrafts. A parallel ethno fair showcased a wide range of products from local artisans.

The products on display included volcanic stone and bronze items, mountain honey and tea, handmade wooden utensils, natural cosmetics made from mountain herbs, silk scarves with traditional motifs, and designer dolls. The event allowed visitors to learn more about local brands and the region's distinctive culture.

Mamison welcomed over 35,000 guests in its first winter.

The new ski resort in North Ossetia has completed its first full ski season. Over the course of nearly four and a half months, Mamison's cable cars welcomed over 35,000 guests. The ski season began at the resort on December 31st last year, and the slopes remained in shape until the end of the May holidays. During peak winter holiday periods, the resort welcomed up to 1,500 skiers per day.

The ski season at the resort lasted 132 days. In the 2025/2026 season, 19 km of slopes of all difficulty levels were open to guests, and gondola and chairlifts reached an altitude of 3,000 meters. At the beginning and towards the end of the season, an artificial snowmaking system, equipped on most of Mamison's slopes, helped maintain a high-quality snow cover.

"During its first full season, the resort passed its most important test: we managed to ensure the stable operation of the slopes and lifts throughout the winter, despite the changeable weather. We closely monitored guest feedback: the most common positives they cited were not only the unique width of the slopes and the opportunity to ski in the big mountains while the area is uncrowded, but also the quality of the slopes. This is understandable: although the resort is new, the maintenance team and rescuers at Mamison are true professionals, having all completed training at Elbrus," said Andrey Yumshanov, General Director of Kavkaz.RF.

During the season, residents added over 100 accommodations to the resort, bringing the total to 280. A new service center, the heart of the resort, opened its doors in the central square. It houses a rental shop, a store, a storage room, a restaurant, and the new Kalak Hotel. On weekends, guests enjoyed open-air parties hosted by residents, and an art program was also in full swing: photography workshops, book-making workshops, sketching from life under the artist's guidance, and waiting out the bad weather with books from the "By Syllables" project.

After the winter season ended, the resort continued to operate as a recreational facility: a cable car was opened for guests, taking them to the best views of Mamison. Down in the gorge, spring has already arrived—early flowers have appeared, photogenic designer lounge chairs have been installed in the main square, and hikes are available along the eco-trail to Lisri. It is planned that the "Slow Life Workshops" will continue to operate on Saturdays this summer, along with a contemporary art exhibition. Once the snow melts, 33 kilometers of eco-trails will be open to guests.

The Mamison resort was built and managed by the Kavkaz.RF development institute. The project is part of a systematic effort to develop the tourism infrastructure of the North Caucasus Federal District. The resort opened on March 14, 2025. Since its opening, Mamison has welcomed approximately 100,000 guests.
