On August 1st at 11:00 AM, the regional stage of the All-Russian "Land of Sports" marathon will begin at the Chikola Sports and Recreation Complex in the Irafsky District. Its holding contributes to achieving the goals and objectives of the "Sport of Russia" state program.

The marathon is part of a large-scale project of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture for the integrated development of rural areas. Its main goals are to engage rural residents and farmers in an active lifestyle, provide them with opportunities for self-fulfillment through sport, and reward achievements in this area.

Citizens living or working in rural areas and agglomerations, as well as students from universities affiliated with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, are invited to participate.

The sports program includes: exercise, GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) multi-event competitions, mini-football, volleyball, family relay races, and strength extreme events.

All participants will receive commemorative diplomas, and the winners will be awarded cups and medals.

As part of his working visit, Acting Head of the Irafsky Municipal District Soslan Makoyev also visited a school in the village of Toldzgun, where major renovations are currently underway as part of the national "Youth and Children" project.

To date, the facility is 60% complete. Contractor Stroymontazh LLC has already completed demolition, completely refinished the flooring in the hallways and common areas, and replaced utility systems—from electrical to heating and water supply. Workers are currently focusing on finishing the classrooms, and will begin renovation of the façade soon.

During the inspection, special attention was paid to safety and the future comfort of children—these are currently the top priorities. All work is scheduled to be completed by August 20, 2026.

After the school, S.K. Makoyev inspected two more socially significant facilities—the feldsher-midwife station and the village community center—to assess the current status and conditions of service provision for local residents.

Overall, the field trip confirmed that important changes for the region are underway, meaning that both children and adults will soon be able to truly experience them.

As part of the national "Youth and Children" project, major renovations are underway at the secondary school in the village of Novy Urukh, Irafsky District. The project includes a comprehensive renovation of the building.

To date, contractors have replaced all utility systems: electrical, heating, water supply, and sewerage. Construction workers are currently working on the interior, installing flooring and renovating classrooms, hallways, and common areas. Particular attention is being paid to safety and creating a comfortable environment for students.

Once all work is completed, the school will have updated facilities, modern utilities, and a comfortable learning environment.

A reporting and election meeting of the Alanta Nykhas District Council was held in the conference hall of the Senior Citizens' Communication Center, which operates as a department of the Social Fund of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania in the Irafsky District.

The meeting was attended by Kazbek Nikolaevich Friev, Chairman of the Alanta Nykhas Republican Council; Yuri Suleimanovich Dzekoev, Deputy Chairman of the Alanta Nykhas Republican Council; Alan Soskiev, Deputy Head of the Irafsky District Municipal Administration; and members of the District Council Plenary Session.

During the meeting, plenary session members Valery Khidirov, Mairbek Tavkazakhov, and Ruslan Mindzaev delivered reports on the results of the meeting and strategic directions for the future.

Following a discussion of the nominated candidates and an open vote, Agube Magometovich Gatsalov was unanimously re-elected as Chairman of the District Council.

An awards ceremony was held during the meeting. Tazret Dzambolatovich Khastsaev was awarded the Certificate of Honor from the Head of the Irafsky Municipal District, R.M. Khamikoev, for his many years of dedicated work and active public service.

The municipal stage of the 3rd All-Russian Family Savings and Investment Festival was held in the Irafsky District Administration.

As a reminder, the festival consists of three stages: municipal, regional, and federal. The winners of the municipal round will participate in the regional stage, which will be held in Vladikavkaz on June 20, 2026.

The Khekilaev family from Chikola emerged as the winner of the three municipal stages of the festival. They will represent the Irafsky District at the regional stage on June 20, where they will compete against families from other districts for the right to advance to the finals.

On June 12, in honor of the national holiday—Russia Day—a passport presentation ceremony for young citizens of the Russian Federation was held in the Government House of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

Twenty-seven young men and women who distinguished themselves in academics, sports, creativity, science, and community service were awarded their first official document—a Russian passport. The passports were presented to the young people by the Head of the Republic, Sergei Ivanovich Menyailo.

Among those awarded were representatives of the Irafsky District: Ruslan Tokazov, a student at Sovetskoye village school, and Lyubov Budayeva, a student at School No. 3 in Chikola village.

Students from schools in the Irafsky District performed brilliantly at the national stage of the All-Russian School Olympiad.

In the village of Lesken, an event entitled "Poetry - A Wonderful Universe" was held for residents of the Irafsky District Social Services Department No. 2.

The participants warmly recalled famous poets of the Golden and Silver Ages, discovering new facets of their work and their rich inner world. They then read their favorite works with genuine pleasure.

On June 1st, Children's Day was celebrated at the Chikola District Community Center.

Alan Soskiev, Deputy Head of the Irafsky District Community Center, addressed the young guests and their parents with a congratulatory speech. He wished the children a bright holiday, new discoveries, true friends, and a peaceful sky above.

The highlight of the celebration was a concert by the children of the Community Center, featuring fiery dances and heartfelt vocal performances. The children also received free ice cream, sweets, and soft drinks.

Furthermore, arts and crafts workshops were held for the children. Under the guidance of Albina Osmanova and Lyudmila Khortieva, the children made toys and appliqués with their own hands. Flowers, the sun, and fairytale characters bloomed on the pavement. Fun competitions ensued, and all the winners and active participants received commemorative prizes.

The Chikola Sports and Recreation Complex hosted the third Interregional Children's and Youth Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament for the Prizes of the Parliament of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

Approximately 160 young athletes from North Ossetia and Kabardino-Balkaria took to the mat. Each of them demonstrated endurance, determination, and a true athletic spirit.

The tournament's opening ceremony was attended by Taimuraz Tuskayev, Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania; Soslan Makoyev, First Deputy Head of the Irafsky District Administration of Municipalities; and Vladimir Uruymagov and Vakhtang Gagloyev, Honored Russian Greco-Roman Wrestling Coaches.

The athletes were trained by Artur Marzoyev, Azamat Balikoyev, and Tigran Zoloiti. Young people's interest in Greco-Roman wrestling is growing year after year. And thanks to the support of parliamentarians and the coaching community, young wrestlers have something to strive for and someone to look up to.

As part of the national "Family" project and the annual Ossetian Language Week, teachers and students from schools in the Irafsky District held a series of events to commemorate Ossetian Language Day, which embodies the cultural code of the Ossetian people and encompasses both traditional and family values.

Poetry and prose by Ossetian authors were performed on stage. Young talents impressed with their profound insight into their characters, their artistry, and their sincere love of literature.

Meetings with people for whom the Ossetian language is their life's work evoked a particular response. Books in their native language were donated to school libraries.

To develop and support the Ossetian language as one of the official languages ​​of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and to strengthen the consolidating role of the Ossetian language in preserving the unity and integrity of the multinational Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, a Global Dictation of the Ossetian Language was held on May 14, 2026, as part of events celebrating Ossetian Language and Literature Day.

Two hundred and forty-seven people participated in the Global Dictation of the Ossetian Language in the Irafsky Municipal District:

155 of them were students;

56 were secondary school teachers;

20 were preschool teachers;

16 were parents.

As part of the national "Family" project, a unified lesson dedicated to the rich traditional culture of the Ossetian people and their family values ​​was held in all schools in the Irafsky District.

The event involved all students, from 1st to 11th grade. The lesson's main goal was not simply to introduce, but to systematize and deepen the children's knowledge of the history, customs, language, folklore, and distinctive art of Ossetia.

Particular attention was paid to centuries-old traditions, inviolable family values, legendary Caucasian hospitality, as well as deep respect for elders and veneration of ancestors.

As part of the "Sport of Russia" state program, an interregional sambo tournament dedicated to the memory of Honored Coach of the USSR Nikolai Zakharovich Kozaev was held on May 7 at the Chikola Sports and Recreation Complex.

Approximately 250 young sambo wrestlers born between 2014 and 2017 from North and South Ossetia competed for the title of best in their age categories.

The tournament's guests of honor included Soslan Makoyev, First Deputy Head of the Irafsky District Sambo Administration; Taimuraz Fidarov, President of the North Ossetian Sambo Federation; and Ibragim Tibilov, Master of Sports of International Class in Combat Sambo.

The head of the regional federation noted the high level of emotion in the bouts and the growing popularity of sambo among children, and thanked the coaches, district administrations, and the Ministry of Sport for developing this traditionally Russian sport. He expressed hope that such competitions will be held more frequently.

As part of the national "Youth and Children" project, a touching recitation competition dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held in the Irafsky District on the eve of the great holiday, Victory Day.

Young reciters recited stories about courage, the difficult roads of war, and the long-awaited May of 1945.

Employees of the Irafsky District Municipal Service actively participated in a district-wide cleanup day.

During the event, a significant area in the northeastern outskirts of the village of Chikola was cleared of accumulated trash, dead trees, and wild shrubs. The grass was mown, trees were whitewashed, and the fence around Victory Park was painted.

The district plans to continue the tradition of spring cleanup days, engaging residents in the active improvement of their neighborhoods and public spaces.

The Chikolinsky Rural Settlement Administration staff held a cleanup day at Cemetery No. 1.

As a result of their joint efforts, the cemetery grounds were partially tidied up and cleared of debris.

At the initiative of the "Movement of the First" activists, the Irafsky District Basketball Championship among primary branches was held at the Chikola Sports and Recreation Complex.

The tournament generated great interest among schoolchildren and their mentors. Six teams competed for the title of the strongest, each demonstrating a high level of preparation, team spirit, and a desire to win. The games were vibrant, intense, and truly exciting.

As part of the state program "Education Development," major renovations have begun at a kindergarten in the village of Lesken.

Recently, Aslanbek Gogayev, Deputy Head of the Irafsky District Municipal Administration, and Zalim Kabaloyev, Head of the Education Department, inspected the progress of the work at the site.

The contractor, KAISER LLC, has begun fulfilling the contract. Dismantling work is currently underway at the site.

The major renovations will include: roof replacement; replacement of all utility systems; replacement of window and door units; and complete interior finishing.

Completion of all work is scheduled for November 30, 2026. The district administration is personally monitoring the renovation progress.
